This year, 213 mass shootings have already occurred in the US. In 2021, 692 mass shootings were recorded, in comparison to 610 over the course of 2020.

Snap Inc's (SNAP.N) shares slumped 30% before the bell on Tuesday after a profit warning from the social media company. The owner of Snapchat was on course to erase about $10 billion from its market value. Snap plummeted 39%, while Facebook's parent, Meta, slumped 10%. Google's parent fell 8%.

DC Attorney General Karl Racine is suing Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Racine alleges that Zuckerberg was directly involved in decisions that led to the Cambridge Analytica data breach. The AG previously sued Meta (then known as Facebook) over the scandal.

Josh Donaldson received a one-game suspension and must pay an undisclosed fine for a comment made to Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson. Donaldson admitted to calling Anderson, one of baseball’s ever-shrinking cohort of Black stars, “Jackie” The Yankees say Donaldson has been put on the COVID-19 injured list.

New York Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli chastised Facebook and Twitter. He said the companies failed to prevent distribution of a video clips of a mass killings. Both Meta and Twitter declined to comment but defended their content controls.

Amanda Anisimova beats Naomi Osaka 7-5, 6-4 at the French Open. The 20-year-old becomes the lowest-ranked woman to beat the No.2 seed in Paris since No.114 Rus upset Clijsters in 2011. Osaka bowed out of last year's French Open citing mental health reasons.
