It will be the sixth time the Pirates pick first and second in three years. Counting of votes began for 250 wards of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) amid heavy security on December 7. Counting is being held under tight vigil at 42 centres across the national capital. The exit polls on December 5 had predicted clean sweep for AAP, a distant second for BJP. Arvind Kejriwal said the AAP wanted to work with other parties to clean up Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party won 134 of the total 250 wards in the first unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. The BJP bagged 104 seats, while the Congress won nine and three wards went to Independents. Out of the 250 wards, 42 were reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates.
