The 14 Republicans who flipped for McCarthy put him four votes away from reaching the threshold he needs to become Speaker.

The University of Cincinnati Medical Center announced Thursday the 24-year-old is now awake and communicating with doctors. Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught two of seven targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 27-24 win versus the Broncos. Green Bay Packers' Christian Watson practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. Stephen Curry will be re-evaluated this weekend and is hoping to be back for next Friday's game versus San Antonio.

Cincinnati Bengals

Bills safety Damar Hamlin was taken off of the field in an ambulance following a hit on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin, 24, remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Air India criticised by regulator over handling of unruly passenger on flight. Air India had said it had banned a male passenger for 30 days in compliance with regulations. The man, while apparently inebriated, urinated on a fellow female passenger.

Benoit Badiashile has signed for Chelsea on a seven-and-a-half-year contract. The 21-year-old defender joined from Monaco for a fee in the region of £35million. He has made over 100 appearances in Ligue 1 for the Principality side.

Celsius Network filed for bankruptcy last year, after halting its operations in June. The New York Attorney General filed a lawsuit on Thursday against Alex Mashinsky. Lawsuit claims Mashinsky schemed to defraud hundreds of thousands of investors.

Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup third round. Goals from Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez seal victory. Result keeps City in second, five points behind leaders Arsenal. Chelsea remain 10th and are 10 points off the top four.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry's memoir, Spare, will be released on January 10. In the book, Harry describes an incident where he was physically assaulted by his brother William. William allegedly grabbed Harry by the collar, ripping his necklace and knocked him to the floor. The confrontation was alleged to have happened in 2019 - a year into the couple's marriage. William is yet to comment on the claims made in the book.
