organizationArsenal beat Manchester City 4-1 in a penalty shootout to win the Community Shield. Fabio Vieira scored the winning spot-kick after Arsenal scored a late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw with the Premier League champions. The Gunners had not beaten City since a 2-0 win in the FA Cup semi-finals in July 2020. Cole Palmer had given City a late lead with a wondrous strike before Leandro Trossard netted in the 11th minute of added time.
